Let start and make First program using TestNG – testing framework – quickstart

Step 1

  1. Go to eclipse
  2. Make new project
  3. Make new class and don’t include main()
  4. Now its time to add first TestNG annotation
  5. Add following code into your class
public class TestNGTest {

	  @Test
	    public void testEmptyCollection() {

	        System.out.println("@Test - testEmptyCollection");
	    }
}

Step 2

You get error on @Test

Lets know how to resolve it go and mouse over that annotation

You get following message

Click on Add TestNG library

Step 3

Again you get error message at @Test annotation

Again go and mouse over on that annotation you will get following error message

Now import this annotation to program

Step 4

Now its time to run this program

Go to project explorer-> go to class file -> right click on that file and go to Run As -> select TestNG test

Step 5

After this check the result from TestNG result panel

Step 6

After running this test go to project and rightclick and refresh project

One folder test-output added automatically by TestNG. This is test result and which is HTML report

Take full path of this index.HTML  and open this in browser

This is bit technical report

 

 

Future work

We will make better then reports which is testing XSLT reports
